Explore the Branféré animal park

Animal park located in Le Guerno, the Branféré zoo covers 45 hectares and houses more than 1200 animals from all over the world. Around the Château de Branféré, a global pole is composed of the zoological park, a botanical garden, a parkabout and the Nicolas Hulot school, a biodiversity education centre. In the park, more than 150 animal species can be discovered, divided into large thematic areas. The Indian Valley is home to rhinoceros, antelope, pigmy deer and many species of swamp birds. The African plain is one of the largest in Europe, with giraffes, zebras, wildebeests and hippos. The marine area also includes three tanks where seals and penguins can be observed. Many other species of animals can be admired at Branféré: primates, llamas, tapirs, camels or yaks, maned wolves, red pandas, wallabys, as well as rheas, ostriches and emus.

An exceptional environment

Ideal for children, the animal park at Château de Branféré has it all: an exceptional natural environment home to rare species of plants and trees, a large number of animals to observe, activities such as the great bird show, and a huge suspended parkabout in the African valley. One of Branféré Park’s missions is to educate and pass on knowledge: Nicolas Hulot School instructors and zookeepers regularly visit the different areas of the park to present the animals, help visitors feed them, or perform medical training sessions in public. These are privileged moments not to be missed! Special and temporary events, workshops and exhibitions are also organized in the educational farm and around the château.
