What to fish for on foot in Morbihan?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Take advantage of the high tides for a fishing trip<\/strong> off the Morbihan coast. Put on your boots and tarpaulin, take a bucket and a net. Look for cockles<\/strong>, clams<\/strong> and razor clams<\/strong>, barnacles<\/strong> and tellins<\/strong> on the beach. You can also find mussels<\/strong>, oysters<\/strong>, barnacles<\/strong>, scallops<\/strong> and abalone<\/strong>. You will also have the opportunity to meet \u00e9trilles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back at the 4-star campsite of Kervallon in Broc\u00e9liande<\/strong>, you can enjoy your seafood with your family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most famous fishing spots in Morbihan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As fishing on foot is such a popular activity in the Morbihan<\/a>, it is accessible from many locations along the region’s coastline<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best known fishing area in the department is Larmor-Plage<\/strong>. The Rhuys peninsula<\/strong> and the Vilaine estuary<\/strong> are very nice places to collect oysters and mussels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around the Petite Mer de G\u00e2vres<\/strong>, the Ria d’Etel<\/strong>, the Vilaine Estuary<\/strong> and the Bay of Quiberon<\/strong>, you can find small cockles. Belle-\u00cele<\/strong> and the wild coast of Quiberon<\/strong> are also two good places to fish for barnacles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the vicinity of our campsite Domaine de Kervallon, there are other popular fishing spots. We can mention: le H\u00e9zo in Saint-Armel<\/strong>, le Magu\u00ebro in Plouhinec<\/strong>, the beach of Halguen<\/strong> and that of Loguy in P\u00e9nestin<\/strong>…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regulations in force and prohibited areas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fishing on foot<\/a> is strictly regulated off the coast of Morbihan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For all species, the number of licences and fishing time is limited. There are also strict regulations<\/strong> on the amount that can be caught and the minimum size of species caught.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For professionals, the maximum permitted quantities of clams are 70 kg<\/strong> per day. The minimum size is set at 3.5 cm.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is also important to know that fishing for shellfish<\/strong>, mussels and oysters is strictly forbidden<\/strong> within 25 metres of oyster beds<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prohibited areas<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Fishing may be temporarily prohibited in certain areas of the coast to protect sea grass beds and birds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Coastal strip and park area of the island of Houat<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Coastal strip of the island of Ho\u00ebdic<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • And so on.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    • Bring a basket or a bucket to bring back your seafood<\/li>\n\n\n\n
